Test your search

We have simplified your process of adjusting and optimizing your Search settings by introducing a “Test your search” feature.

Introduction

We understand that the Search configuration process can be overwhelming and take up a lot of time; adding in the moving back and forth between the settings page and the storefront to test the product searches, our customers spend more time than needed to perfect their search engines. To ease this process and reduce the result-testing time, we have added a “Test your search” feature to our Search drop-down feature list.

Test your search is a simple feature with three parts:

  • The search prompt
  • An informative summary of all the search rules being applied (if rules are applied)
  • The products that satisfy your search terms.

Everything from the most relevant products to the boosted/demoted products will be shown in the true order that your customers will see.

To use Test your search

To access this feature, please follow these steps:

  1. From app admin, go to Search > Test your search

    or

    From any Search feature's page, on the top right corner, select Test your search

  1. Enter your test search terms. Make sure to check your Rules table so that no intended features are missing

💡 If no rules are applied to your search results, the rule table will not appear.

  1. (optional for Product performance ranking) Turn on the Compare mode view so you can see the changes being applied to a search result with and without the Product performance ranking feature
  2. Inspect your listed products and confirm whether the products are in your desired arrangement
  3. (optional) If a configurable product rule needs to be modified, you can click on the pencil icon on the right side of the rule table to be re-directed to the setting pages

Interact with the result products

You can see the product details of any result products by clicking on them and a pop-up window will appear.

Product performance ranking: compare mode view

To demonstrate the AI-capability of our Product performance ranking feature, we have added a compare mode view to showcase the powerful impact AI can have on your search results. You can enable this feature by having a trial or subscription to our advanced AI-search feature and turning the Product performance product on.

In the image above, you can see that the rankings of multiple product items have been re-arranged compared to the result without Product performance ranking due to the different statistics and performance of each product. This re-ranking will result in more compelling search result pages and higher conversion rates.
