Getting Collections and Search Analytics on App Lib V2

Product Filter & Search provides a dashboard that lets you get detailed insights and analytics on customer behaviour and your products. You can collect Collections and Search Analytics with no extra effort and no coding involved to make data-driven decisions when assessing your filtering and search solutions.

Analytics dashboard overview

The Analytics section of the dashboard contains metrics that help you learn more about your sales and customers in great detail. 

The metrics in the Overview section, right under the Analytics heading, measure Total sales, Total filter clicks, and Total searches in the last 14 days of your Shopify store. The data of Total Sales is updated daily at 9:00 AM (UTC+7). On the other hand, the data of Total Filter Clicks and Total Searches is updated every 6 hours, starting from 1:00 AM (UTC+7).

  • NOTE: 

This feature will be activated as soon as you install the app’s trial version. However, you have to wait for at least 14 days to see how well your customer navigates your store compared to the previous date range.

The metrics in the Analytics feature come in two main categories: Collections analytics and Search analytics. Each of the categories is displayed in one separate tab. All analytics data is accessible in graphical format. you can drill down on the metrics by clicking View detail. Tooltips are also provided to help you navigate through the data.

Collections analytics enables you to follow:

- Total sales generated by the app

- Total filter clicks

- Top filter option value combinations

- Top filter option values

Search analytics enables you to follow:

- Total sales generated by the app

- Total searches

- Top search terms

- Top search terms that return no results

- Total filter clicks on search results pages

- Top filter option values on search results pages

Access Collections Analytics

  • From the app’s admin, go to Analytics.
  • Go to the Collections Analytics tab.
  • In the drop-down of All collections, select the collection that you want to get its analytics and reports.
  • Click the Calendar button and select the correct date range to get the analytics from. When you want to compare one date range to the previous one, select Compare to previous dates. Click Apply.
  • Collections analytics allows you to follow:
    • Total sales generated by app: The metrics measure how much revenue your store has made using our app using filter and search events, during defined date ranges. You can click View detail to explore the top collections that have generated the highest revenue when you choose All collections in the drop-down of All collections. To let our app collect those sales figures, this feature must have to be enabled first.  
    • Total filter clicks: The metrics show the number of clicks on the filter tree in selected collections. This section is a good indicator of which collections your customers are paying attention to.
    • Top filter option value combinations: These metrics show the top combination of all filter option values that your customers most selected. You can use these analytics to improve your faceting configuration and your business strategies by knowing which combinations of attribute values are most used by your customers. Click View detail to get an overview of the top 20 combinations and their other related figures.
    • Top filter option values: These figures let you know the top filter option values selected by your customers. These reports can help you learn much about your customers’ demands. Click View detail to get an overview of the top 20 filter values and their other related figures.

Access Search Analytics

  • From the app’s admin, go to Analytics.
  • Go to the Search Analytics tab.
  • Click the Calendar button and select the correct date range to get the analytics from. When you want to compare one date range to the previous one, select Compare to previous dates. Click Apply.
  • Search analytics allows you to follow:
    • Total sales generated by app: The metrics measure how much revenue your store has made using our app using filter and search events, during defined date ranges. To let our app collect those sales figures, this feature must have to be enabled first.
    • Total searches: These numbers reflect how many searches were performed by your customers in your store.
    • Top search terms: The metrics let you know the top search terms entered by your customers during the defined date range. The most popular search data helps you re-examine product vocabulary by seeing which words your customers tend to use. Then you can align their vocabulary with that of your database and learn more about your customers' demands. 
    • Top search terms with no results: This section offers a list of top search queries that return no results. By exploring the most frequent searches that lead to no results, you can adjust your catalog and relevance algorithm. If the list shows that your customers are having trouble finding products that you already have, you can add synonyms or merchandising rules. Since the list helps you identify missing items in your catalog, you can improve your dataset and minimize the occurrence of zero search results.
    • Total filter clicks on search page: These numbers show the number of clicks on the filter tree located on search results pages. They can help to assess how effective your store's search solutions are. 
    • Top filter option value on search page: These metrics show the top option values that your customers most select during a defined period. 

Export the analytics data

Our app lets you download your analytics data as CSV & XLSX (Excel) files.

To export your Analytics data:

  • From the app’s admin, go to Analytics.
  • Go to the Collections Analytics tab or Search Analytics tab based on which one you want to download the data from.
  • Click the Export button on the top right of the Analytics dashboard.
  • Select the desired collection, date range, and format of the file you are going to receive.
  • NOTE: 

When the app's Analytics features have not collected data for the chosen period, you won't be able to download files. 

  • You may have to wait a couple of minutes for the data to process and be converted to a readable format. Each data field will be separated into an individual file and combined into a ZIP file.

  • Click Save.
